We are keen to develop our growing skills here at Alver Valley Schools. We already have some planters around the school site, including a huge patch of strawberries, some planters outside Year R where we are currently attempting to grow peas, beans and beetroot, as well as the seed bombs, trees and willow we have planted for Forest School, but we’d like to do more! Mrs Robinson had the great idea of signing up for the RHS Big Grow this year, called Grow Social, and so now we are seeing lots more planting taking place.

On this page we will post some updates of our school gardening exploits and progress. If you are growing at home please do share your photos so we can add some to our Alver Valley Grows at Home gallery! Also if you find you have a surplus of plants that you have been growing and would like to donate a few seedlings please do pop them into the office, as we will make good use of them! Do pop back to this page soon to see how we are getting on!
