Along with prioritising Reading, Writing and Maths, you will already know that the Arts are central to our curriculum design at Alver Valley Schools. In June 2023 we were successful in achieving double Gold Arts Mark award for our two schools.

The Alver Valley Schools Arts Council has a key role in this achievement. The council is made up of pupils from across our schools who have an interest or passion in the Arts and work to help us champion the Arts in school.

The Arts Council take part in meetings where they will help to influence Arts provision and whole school projects. They are invited go on some Arts visits representing the school, and also learn some new skills as they take part in Arts workshops over the year.

So far the arts council have helped plan a whole school art project and art competition, visited an art gallery and attended a theatre performance of the Lion King and designed the backdrop for the infant nativity.

If your child is interested in joining the Alver Valley Arts Council please request an application form from Mrs Lockwood, or the school office, when the next application window opens in September. More information will be shared in our school newsletters.
