Our Mission Statement
At Alver Valley Schools we believe everyone has the right to be treated with equality, equity and respect. Every pupil has the right to be listened to and taken seriously. (UNCRC Article 12)
Our pupil and teacher Equality and Rights Advocates (EARA) will support and challenge our thinking, practice and provision and will reflect this back to our wider school community. As a school we will
- Provide opportunities to express views, feelings and thoughts, which are heard
- Promote respect amongst pupils and staff
- Raise awareness of children’s rights and responsibilities
- Ensure our curriculum reflects the diversity of our community
- Make sure our school community respects both equality and equity
Our EARA team will ensure:
Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes on all matters affecting them and to have their views considered and taken seriously.
This is achieved through regular consultation with the EARA team as well as opportunities with the school council, art council and well-being ambassadors.
Our EARA team consisting of children from year 1 up to year 6.
