Alver Valley Enter Gosport in Bloom!

Once again Alver Valley schools have been busy gardening, and this year we have entered Gosport in Bloom. From the vegetable patch and sensory garden in Yr R, round the tree planting in Year 1, and all the way through to the Platinum Jubilee Garden in the Junior School quad, our schools are certainly blooming!

Grow social update

Alver Valley Schools have been embracing the Grow Social project. Year 2 have grown runner beans, sunflowers ? broad beans and pumpkins ? – they even shared some of their harvest with Year 6. In Year R the children are excited about the bumper harvest coming from their peas, runner beans, beetroot, cauliflower and cabbage.

Year R Garden Update

Year R launched their growing area after reading the traditional tale of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and deciding to plant beanstalks. Children and adults have been planting, watering and weeding their garden, and finally we can see some early fruiting and flowers. How many different types of plants can you spot?
